With the growth of cities, the school’s teaching environment needs to be more multi-function to meet the
growing needs of urban development. Under such circumstances, vertical schools are becoming more and
more common in some of Asia’s mega cities, such as Hong Kong, Singapore and first-tier cities in Mainland
China. These verticle campus have created new challenges for students’ movement, integration of outdoor
sports and learning spaces, and fire safety. As the density of cities continues to increase, this trend is bound
to continue. On the most public floor of the entire teaching building, the designer has designed a number
of special spaces-a pleasant college landscape, a jogging track, a large entrance staircase, and a “starfish”
shaped library and A-LEVEL learning center. The “Campus Star” on the west side is a comprehensive facility
that integrates book reading, A-LEVEL certification related self-study, teamwork, campus exhibitions, and
reception services.
